SHAWNEE — Putnam City West couldn’t overcome a slow start against Union in a 68-49 loss Friday (March 7) in a Class 6A East Area 4 consolation matchup at Shawnee.
“Fell too far behind against a good team,” Putnam City West coach Brian Booker said via text. “Missed some open 3s and missed too many shots at the rim. Didn’t rebound well on the defensive end.”
West (11-6) had three players score in double figures. Junior Quavion Wheeler scored 15 points. Fellow junior DJ Carter added 13 and freshman Scyon Wilborn followed with 12 points in the loss.
