
NOBLE — Putnam City’s girls basketball season came to a close with a 68-53 loss to Norman North Thursday (March 6) in the Class 6A West Area 1 playoffs at Noble.
The Lady Pirates (8-14) had three players score in double figures. Senior Kayla Hill scored 16 points, had seven rebounds and three assists. Fellow senior Paishintz Booker added 11 points and five steals.
Junior Promise Wright followed with 11 points.
Senior Destinee Hunt finished with four points and six rebounds.
Putnam City won the turnover batter with 11 turnovers, compared to 14 from Norman North. However, the Lady Pirates struggled from the free throw line, hitting only 5-of-15, while Norman North was 12-of-13 from the stripe.
The Lady Timberwolves (16-9) had three players score in double figures, led by senior Seleh Harmon with 19 points.
