EDMOND — Putnam City North had several swimmers earn berths in the upcoming state meet during the Class 6A West Regional held Feb. 8 at the Edmond Public Schools Aquatic Center.

In the boys competition, North freshman Xander Applegate qualified in the 200 yard Individual Medley and the 100 yard Butterfly events.

Sophomore Brody Cunningham qualified in the 200 yard Individual Medley and the 100 Yard Breaststroke.

Sophomore Colin Turbayne is heading to state in the 50 yard Individual Freestyle and the 100 yard Freestyle event.

Junior Luke Engelmann adds a berth in the 100 yard backstroke.

The Panthers had two relay teams qualify for state, including the 200 yard Freestyle Relay team and the 400 yard Freestyle Relay squad.

In the girls competition, sophomore Scarlet Mathis qualified in the 200 yard Individual Medley.

Senior Jordan Lent is going to state in the 50 yard Individual Freestyle.

North had two girls relay team qualify including the 200 Yard Medley Relay team and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay squad.

UP NEXT

North’s state qualifiers will compete at the state meet Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 24-25) at the Jenks Aquatic Center.

The event was moved from Feb. 21-22 due to winter weather conditions across the state.
