
WARR ACRES— Putnam City picked up a Senior Night victory Monday (Feb. 17) with a 59-45 win over Edmond Memorial in a 6A-1 contest.
“Really proud of our seniors,” Putnam City coach Brandon Jackson said via text. “They deserved this moment and ending regular season on a very high note.”
Senior JaColby Williams scored 21 points with two important 3-pointers to end the first half.
Jackson said while it wasn’t Williams’ “best game,” but Jhe praised him for a “great defensive effort.”
Another senior, Johnn Sheffey, added 10 points.
“Can’t say enough about this young man,” Jackson said. “Defended at a high level once again,” and also had “huge buckets in the fourth and key rebounds.”
Dealing with injuries, Kelton Locke only had three points. But, Jackson said he made “game winning plays and huge free throws in the fourth (quarter).”
“These three seniors are amazing and great. They willed us to this victory and I’m glad and really proud of them. Can’t express enough what these three young men mean to our program. They are winners!” Jackson said.
Sophomores Gabe Osborne and Mar’Quell Robinson each made an impact. Osborne scored 13 points, including nine points in the fourth quarter and Robinson added seven points.
UP NEXT
Putnam City finishes the regular season 18-5 and 10-4 in District 6A-1 play.
The regional playoffs begin Feb. 27.
