ARDMORE — Bethany overcame a slow start in a 52-47 win over Ardmore Friday (Feb. 14) in a 4A contest.
The Bronchos (14-7) fell behind 22-10 in the first half before mounting a comeback.
Bethany hit 7-of-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter for the win.
Bethany coach Brett Cannon knew his team would have a challenge playing on the road against a tough Ardmore squad, days after Bethany’s overtime loss to Weatherford.
“We are coming off a hard fought battle from Tuesday and those type of games can have a mental hold on you where you don’t move on from it and I think that played a part in us tonight,” Cannon said via text. “We didn’t play our best. We need the weekend to rest and regroup and we’ll be ready to get back to work on Monday with a fresh mindset.”
Senior Lukas Wooldridge led Bethany with 13 points. Fellow seniors Aiden Todd and Wyatt Geissler each added 10 points.
Ardmore senior Demontrea Stevenson scored a game-high 17 points for the Tigers.
