
CHOCTAW— Choctaw rallied in the third quarter for a 77-56 win over Putnam City North Friday (Feb. 7) in a 6A-2 contest.
North coach DJ Lemons described the loss via text as “a very tough one.”
“We did a bad job of rebounding collectively on the defensive end,” Lemons said.
The Panthers (13-8, 6-5) had 11 players score in the contest. Junior Malakye Schoats paced the team with 14 points, including 10 in the second half. Schoats was the only player to crack double figures.
Senior Khai Brown scored nine points but was shut out in the second half.
Choctaw junior Jayden Hopkins scored a game-high 26 points with 13 points in each half. Hopkins was one of three Yellowjackets scoring in double figures.

Putnam City North hosts Moore (14-6, 9-2) Tuesday (Feb. 7) at 7:30 p.m. in another 6A-2 game.
The Lions lost to sister school Southmoore, 61-60, Saturday.
