BETHANY — The Lady Bronchos dropped a 50-43 contest to 3A power Anadarko Friday (Feb. 7) in a Western Athletic Conference contest.
“Anadarko is a very physical team!! We did not match their physical nature the way we needed too,” Bethany coach Eric Sailer said via text. “We allowed them to dictate the pace of the game with their defensive pressure.”
Anadarko (14-6, 7-3) took an early lead and kept eight-ranked Bethany at arm’s length.
“We knew they had great size and we needed to stay away from certain mismatches. Coach Graham did a good job of causing mismatches on the floor,” Sailer said.
The Lady Bronchos (15-5, 7-3) lost despite having three players score in double figures.
Senior Kayten Donley scored 13 points and so did sophomore Ali Linn.
Fellow sophomore Camryn Regier added 10 points.
Bethany struggled from beyond the arc, shooting 2-of-14 (14 percent).
“Lately we have been shooting very well from the perimeter, but 14% from 3 takes us back to the beginning of the season when we really struggled from the 3,” Sailer said.
Anadarko senior Heaven Haywood scored a game-high 22 points in the win. Haywood hit three treys and score nine points in the first quarter surge.

“Hopefully we can learn quickly, because Weatherford is a much improved team from last year!!” Sailer said.
