
NEWCASTLE — Bethany won third place in the Sweet Pea Invitational at Newcastle with a 49-29 win over Classen S.A.S. Saturday (Jan. 25).
“One of our best defensive performances of the season,” Bethany coach Brett Cannon said via text. “Really proud of our guys for bouncing back.”
The Bronchos (9-6) broke open a 9-4 first quarter lead and led 23-10 by halftime.
Senior Aiden Todd had a game-high 13 points and fellow senior Lukas Wooldridge added 12 points. Both players had a pair of 3-pointers.
Senior Garrett Jones followed with eight points and fellow senior Jackie Payne scored seven points.
Payne was named to the All-Tournament team.
