BETHANY – The Bronchos used a strong second half to beat Harding Charter Prep, 49-37, Friday (Dec. 20).
The Bronchos (3-3) led by a point at halftime, 24-23. After the break, Bethany outscored Harding, 10-3, in the third quarter to widen the lead.
In the fourth quarter, senior Wyatt Geissler hit two big 3-pointers.
“Those pretty much sealed it for us,” Bethany coach Brett Cannon said via text.
Fellow senior Aiden Todd scored a game-high 17 points.
“Aiden did a great job getting downhill and playing through contact,” Cannon said.
Senior Lukas Wooldridge had a double-double, scoring 12 points and bringing down 11 rebounds.
“He did some really good things on both sides of the floor,” Cannon said of Wooldridge.
The Bronchos (3-3) continue to struggle after the season start was delayed due to Bethany’s football playoff run.
Bethany was 7-of-21 from the free throw line and missed 21 shots inside the paint.
“They’re in the right spots and making the right play/read but shots just aren’t going down. Thankfully our defense has been solid,” Cannon said.
“It was nice to finish the semester with a win,” Cannon said. “Still can’t shake the rust it seems. At the end of the day, it’s on me to figure it out and it’s the only thing that will be on my mind during this break.”
Cannon said he was going to watch a lot fim to “get back to the drawing board of some things I can tweak to get us playing more efficiently. Got to find a way to get going,” Cannon said.
