
DUNCAN – Putnam City sprinted out to a big lead en route to a 78-36 win over 4A Ada Friday (Dec. 13) in the semifinals of the Southern Oklahoma Invitational.
The Pirates (5-1) led 44-15 by halftime.
“Great defensive effort! Loved how we came out as a team and defended at a very high level. Our best offense was our defense,” Putnam City coach Brandon Jackson said via text.
Senior Kelton Locke scored a game-high 24 points in the win. Fellow senior JaColby Williams added 11 points.
“Our thre seniors led the way,” Jackson said. “Their leadership on the floor is really standing out and having an huge impact on our young guys.”
Senior Johnn Sheffey scored four points.

Putnam City meets 3A Lincoln Christian (5-1) for the tournament title Saturday (Dec. 14) at 5:30 p.m. The Bulldogs beat Cache, 54-26 Friday.
