NORMAN – Putnam City North led early but had to mount a second half comeback to beat Norman North in overtime, 47-43, Friday (Dec. 13) in the semifinals at the Joe Lawson Memorial Invitational Tournament at Norman High School.

“We have a lot to learn especially on closing out games but give Norman North credit they were good in their zone defenses,” Putnam City North coach D.J. Lemons said via text. “We made some questionable decisions, but it’s still early in the season, but we will learn from it.”

The Panthers led by a point at halftime but fell behind in the second half.

“A lot of credit to Norman North they have some experienced guys, Kellen McCoy has a really good team and they never went away and that’s what good teams do and they’re a good team.”
