WARR ACRES – Putnam City senior Brayden Knox signed with Division I North Texas Wednesday (Dec. 4).
Knox had nearly 250 tackles in his career, 40 of those for a loss and 24 sacks. He also average 5.2 yards a carry as a running back on offense.
Knox was rated as a three star recruit by ESPN.
“Has a great frame to be a really dynamic edge rusher,” North Texas head coach Eric Morris told 247Sports. “I think his body type and explosiveness will give us the ability to get him a good look next year. I think he’s big enough and strong enough to be able to compete earlier than later.”
Knox was originally committed to Tulsa.
The Mean Green finished the regular season at 6-6 (3-5 in the American Athletic Conference).

Defensive back Mykel Ford signed with Nevada.
Ford finishes his high school career with 100 tackles and two interceptions. On offense, he caught 30 passes for 380 yards and three touchdowns.
