
PONCA CITY – Putnam City West rode a fast start to a 88-56 win over Ponca City Tuesday (Dec. 3) in the Patriots’ opener and a 6A-3 district matchup.
After a 4-4 tie in the first quarter, West (1-0, 1-0) went on a 16-2 run and led 32-10 after one quarter of play.
The Patriots had four players score in double figures.
Junior Jace Coleman scored a game-high 21 points.
Fellow junior DJ Carter added 11 points as did freshman Scyon Wilborn and junior Quavion Wheeler.
UP NEXT
The Patriots stay on the road with a matchup against sister school Putnam City North (1-2) Friday (Dec. 6). The Panthers beat Piedmont, 59-42, Tuesday.
