
PONCA CITY – After a fast start in the Lady Patriots’ season opener, host Ponca City went on a dominant run en route to a 62-11 win over Putnam City West Tuesday (Dec. 3) in a 6A-3 district matchup.
West junior Kimyia Bullard keyed the Lady Patriots’ early lead. Bullard drained a 3-pointer from the top of the key. She followed that with a teardrop shot which went in followed by a free throw. Bullard laid in another shot from the right baseline to give West (0-1, 0-1) an 8-3 lead.
From that point, the Wildcats (1-1, 1-0)went on a 59-3 run for the rout.
Ponca City senior Laileyana Allen scored a game-high 14 points with four treys. Junior Jasmine Sodowsky added 10 points. In all, 10 Wildcats scored.
For West, Bullard finished with nine points. Freshman Alazia Gutierrez added two points in the loss.
UP NEXT
The Lady Patriots stay on the road with a matchup against sister school Putnam City North (3-0) Friday (Dec. 6). The Lady Panthers throttled Piedmont, 84-45, Tuesday.
