Bethany had to make a defensive adjustment during its 41-9 win over Ardmore last Friday (Oct. 25).
Bethany coach Jon Arthur thinks the experience of figuring how to combat a unique offense will be helpful.
“It’s definitely going to be definitely beneficial. You certainly are going to have to do that, down the road and in a playoff game or at some point. You’re going to have you’re going to have teams, they’re not going to go into a game just doing everything they’ve done.”
Arthur said when teams show “wrinkles” in their offense, the response is important.
“That’s one of those things you’d like to see, to see guys how they react in a pressure situation,” Arthur said.
Senior Jackson Dull led the team with 11 tackles with one for a loss and a sack. Fellow senior Devonta Melton added nine tackles. Another senior, Charlie Tolle collected eight tackles with three for a loss and a sack.
Seniors Brock Cross and Jackie Payne each had seven tackles.
Junior Macos Lopez and freshman Breck Brady each had a sack. Brady had two tackles for loss and Lopez added one.
Wyatt Geissler had an interception with a 42-yard return.
The senior had a big night after quiet game in the win over Harrah.
“I think that’s just kind of how the game went (against Harrah),” Arthur said of Geissler’s one catch.
Against Ardmore, Geissler caught seven passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
“It was good to get him opened up. He had a great game on both sides of the ball,” Arthur said.

Payne was 10-of-12 passing for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Judson Gilliland went 2-of-3 for 82 yards and a score.
