BETHANY – Bethany honored its senior volleyball players Monday (Oct. 7) with a three set sweep of Putnam City.
The Lady Bronchos, second-ranked in 4A, won 25-9, 25-8 and 25-16 to improve to 29-4.
“This was a really fun match. We always have a really good time playing PCO,” Bethany coach Kerri Cagle said. “We saw them earlier in the season when they came to our tournament, but, we don’t even like look at them as rivals. They’re just kind of our like community family.”
In the match, the Bethany seniors got a chance to play together.
“Very rarely do all of them get to be on the court at the same time. And so that’s always special,” Cagle said.
‘FUN’ SENIOR CLASS

After the win, the senior group of Jaidyn Reid, Lauren Koonce, Karly Shirola Keziah Lofton, Addie Hoefar and manager Lauryn Clark were honored.
“They are such a fun group to be around. And what’s special about them too, is they all like they know and they understand and embrace their role,
“So it doesn’t matter if they’re on the court at the moment playing or over on the bench cheering, like they are so supportive of each other and they get excited for each other and there’s not like Any of that tension or anything that I know some teams experience,” Cagle said. “They just they absolutely want the best for each other.”
Over this senior class’ career, Bethany has gone 101-44. The group reached the state quarterfinals in 2021 and were state runner-ups in 2023.
