ARDMORE – Western Heights was eliminated from the Class 4A Regional 8 playoffs with two losses at Plainview High School Thursday (Oct. 3).

MCLOUD 8, WESTERN HEIGHTS 7

A back-and-forth game turned McLoud’s way as the Redskins single runs in the last three innings for the win.

Aracena Martin and Makayla Brown each went 3-for-4. Brown had a home run.

Jalesa Asimba, Abbie Bise, senior Ionia Howell, Yazmine Howell and Yazmine Howell each had a hit. Ionia Howell’s was a three-run home run in the fourth inning which gave Western Heights a 6-4 lead.

The Lady Jets outhit McLoud 11-10 but five errors were a factor.

Asimba gave up 10 hits in seven innings. Only four of her eight runs were earned.

CLINTON 15, WESTERN HEIGHTS 8

Clinton pulled away in the last three innings to eliminate Western Heights.

Asimba went 3-for-5. Bise and Ionia Howell each finished 2-for-5. Ionia Howell hit her second home run of the day and finished with three runs batted in.

Brown, Spitler and Hannah Parker each went 2-for-4. Jasmine Frye and Yazmine Howell each went 1-for-4.

The Lady Jets racked up 15 hits. Clinton had 17 hits and each team had six errors.

Asimba allowed four earned runs in the loss.
