CACHE – Bethany has a tougher road to advance from Class 4A Regional 4 after a split of their games Wednesday (Oct. 2).

The Lady Bronchos will need to win three straight games Thursday (Oct. 3) to move on, beginning with Ada at 12 p.m.

“We will have to win three games tomorrow to advance but I feel like we have the setup that can do such a thing,” Bethany coach Booker Blakley said via text. “But, we will have to play three really solid games.”

WEDNESDAY: BETHANY 10, ADA 0

Junior Madison Bibbs drove in five runs and fellow junior Jayda Davis struck out 11 batters as Bethany run-ruled Ada in five innings.

Bibbs hit a two-run home run in the first as Bethany took a 4-0 lead. She tripled in the second as the Lady Bronchos extended the lead to 6-0. In the fifth, a Bibbs double was part of a four-run inning to end the game early, 10-0. She finished just a single away from hitting for the cycle.

“Bibbs had a really great offensive performance,” Blakley said. “Starting off with a home run in the first inning really helped set the tone.”

Davis was in command in the circle, allowing two hits and walking none. At one point, she retired eight straight until a single in the fourth inning.

“I thought Jayda did a phenomenal job in the circle in game one. Really did a good job keeping Ada off balance. Anytime you can strike out double digits and walk zero is a fantastic day,” Blakley said.

Life Bibbs, senior Ireland Riley also went 3-for-4, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Junior Alyssa Daniels added a 2-for-2 day. Sophomores Jules Barger, Grey Williamson, Ella Davis and junior Paige Sechrist each had a hit. Bethany finished with 12 hits in the win.

WEDNESDAY: CACHE 3, BETHANY 1

Cache junior Kadielynne Fisher held Bethany to three hits, striking out six batters.

The Lady Bronchos broke a scoreless tie with a run in the third inning, taking advantage of two Cache errors. Riley reached on an infield error and was forced out at second while Bibbs reached on an fielder’s choice. Bibbs stole second and scored on another error, allowing Barger to reach.

Bethany held on to the lead until the fifth. A single, sacrifice bunt and two walks loaded the bases.

Cache sophomore Mya Carrisalez stole home to tie the game. Lady Bulldog senior Payton Nunley doubled to center, scoring two for a 3-1 lead.

Riley finished 2-of-3 for the game. Daniels went 1-of-3.

Blakley was pleased with his pitching and defense despite the loss.

“We had some unfortunate breaks go against us but we have to be more productive at the plate so things like that will not affect the outcome,” Blakley said.

Sechrist took the loss, allowing five hits in 4 1 / 3 innings. She walked three batters and struck out one.
