

Bethany heads to Cache Wednesday (Oct. 2) for the Class 4A Regional playoffs.
The Lady Bronchos meet Ada (9-17) at noon. The winner of that game plays at 4 p.m. while the loser plays at 2 p.m.
The other two teams in the Regional are host Cache (17-17) and Classen S.A.S. (4-19).
On Thursday, the loser’s bracket game is at 12 p.m. The winners play at 2 p.m. and again at 4 p.m. if necessary. Only the winner of the regional will advance.
TEAM STAT LEADERS
Senior Ireland Riley paces the team with a .578 average, Hitting at the top of the order, Riley is second in runs scored with 37. She has also swiped 15 bases.
Junior Madison Bibbs enters the tournament hitting .490. She leads the team with six triples, two home runs and is second with 39 runs batted in.
Sophomore Jules Barger adds a .422 average. Barger leads the team with 20 doubles and 40 runs batted in. Barger also leads the team with 17 RBIs with two outs.
Other players hitting above .300 over 20 games or more include sophomore Emma Geissler (.361) and junior Alyssa Daniels (.323).
As a team, Bethany is hitting .364.
In the circle, juniors Paige Sechrist and Jayda Davis both have an 8-7 record. Each player also has a save. Sechrist enters the playoffs with a 2.79 earned run average and Davis adds a 3.42 ERA. Sechrist has struck out 81 batters while Davis has 70 punchouts.
MEET THE TEAMS
Ada finished sixth in 4A-4 with a 4-10 district record. The Lady Cougars strung together a four-game winning streak from Sept. 19-26, picking up district wins over Purcell, Pauls Valley, Dickson and Sulphur. Ada has two other 4A wins, over Madill in the Sulphur Tournament and over Madill on Sept. 10.
Classen S.A.S. finished last in 4A-3 with an 0-12 district record. The Lady Comets beat Capitol Hill, Douglass, Southeast and U.S. Grant in non-district action. Bethany beat Classen S.A.S., 19-0, in the Bethany Tournament Sept. 7.
Host Cache finished second in 4A-2 with a 10-2 district record. Its only two district losses came at the hands of district winner, Tuttle. Cache beat 2023 6A state qualifier Mustang earlier in the season. The Lady Bulldogs enter the playoffs on a three-game losing streak.

RILEY COMMITS TO INDIANA STATE
The school announced Saturday that Riley has committed to NCAA Division I Indiana State.
“We are very proud of Ireland and all she has accomplished as a Broncho,” Bethany coach Booker Blakley said in a statement released by the school. “We know she will be just as successful at the next level,”
The Sycamores compete in the Missouri Valley Conference. Indiana State finished 20-30 in the spring after a 32-25 season in 2023, falling in the MVC championship game.
Riley will play for new head coach Windy Thees, who joined the school in August.
