
EDMOND – Bethany scored three runs in the seventh inning to beat 6A Edmond North, 9-6, Thursday (Sept. 26).
The Lady Bronchos (15-15) got five singles in the inning to break open a 6-6 tie.
Bethany took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI-double from junior Madison Bibbs, scoring senior Ireland Riley.
Edmond North (10-13) answered with four singles in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four runs for a 4-1 lead.
Barger added a two-run single in the second, scoring junior Emma Buxton sophomore Emma Geissler. Riley scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at 4-4.
Edmond North took a 6-4 with single runs in the second and third innings.
“Proud of how they reacted to the early big inning, especially in the circle,” Bethany coach Booker Blakley said via text. “Jayda (Davis) got stronger as the game went on.”
From the fourth inning onward, Davis allowed one hit and worked around two Bethany errors and a hit by pitch.
In all Davis, scattered six hits and struck out nine batters in the win.
With Davis keeping deficit at two runs, the Bethany offense got to work.
Junior Alyssa Daniels had a one-out double in the fifth. Fellow junior Berkley Johnson singled, advancing Daniels to third base. Daniels scored on a sacrifice fly to left field from Buxton.
In the sixth, Geissler and Bibbs singled and Barger drove in Geissler with a single to center field to tie the game.
In the seventh inning, sophomore Ella Davis pinch hit and led off with a single to center. Buxton laid down a sacrifice bunt, moving Davis over to second. Junior Paige Sechrist scored Davis with a single to left field. Geissler followed with a single to center, moving Sechrist to third. Riley added a bunt single to load the bases. Then, Bibbs singled to right, scoring Sechrist and Geissler for a 9-6 lead.
Riley and Barger went 3-for-5. Barger drove in four runs. Bibbs added a 2-for-5 day and Sechrist went 2-for-4. Bethany produced 17 hits in the win with every player but one recording a hit.
“We seem to be playing good at the right time just have to keep momentum going forward,” Blakley said.

Bethany (15-15) hosts 3A Perry Monday (Sept. 30) at 5 p.m. The Lady Maroons are 29-6 and riding a seven-game winning streak.
