EDMOND – Edmond Santa Fe used a seven-run third inning to beat Putnam City, 11-1, in a game which started Tuesday (Sept. 24) and finished Wednesday due to an early fall thunderstorm.

The Lady Pirates took the lead in the first inning. Back-to-back doubles from sophomore Samantha Tidmore and Madi Gossman led to an RBI double to center field from junior Dahlia Hickerson.

Santa Fe tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI-double by sophomore Hayley Ford.

The Lady Wolves broke the game open in the third inning, scoring seven runs and taking advantage of four errors.

The game was stopped with one out in the third inning with Santa Fe leading, 7-1.

After play resumed Wednesday, Santa Fe added four runs for the run-rule win in six innings.

Tidmore went 3-for-3. Hickerson added a 2-for-2 performance as did Gossman.

Sophomore Francis Meza finished 1-for-3.

Fellow sophomore Maece Bourbonnais allowed eight hits and 10 runs (only one of which was earned). Bourbonnais struck out five batters in four innings.

The Lady Pirates committed 11 errors in the loss.

Putnam City (5-20, 1-10) travels to Norman North (16-12) Thursday (Sept. 26) for a non-district game. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.
