TULSA – A late rally by Union, aided by Putnam City errors, dropped the Lady Pirates, 13-3, Monday (Sept. 23) in a 6A-3 game.

Trailing 3-0 in the third inning, Putnam City rallied with a two-out, two-run double from Tessa Goodner. The sophomore came around to score on fellow sophomore Madi Gossman’s single to tie the game at 3-3.

Union took advantage of an infield error to take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the third inning. The Lady Redhawks followed that with three runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull away for the run-rule win.

PC committed nine errors in the contest.

Junior Dahlia Hickerson and Gossman each went 2-for-3. Goodner, sophomores Maece Bourbonnais and Natalie Luevano each had a hit.

Bourbonnais got the loss despite only allowing one earned run (of the eight runs she allowed).
