OKLAHOMA CITY – Putnam City West won two ballgames against 3A Crooked Oak Tuesday (Sept. 24) in two different ways, winning a slugfest and a more low-scoring game.

GAME 1: PUTNAM CITY WEST 12, CROOKED OAK 10

The Lady Patriots had seven hits and 20 stolen bases in the win.

Junior Jazmyne Thomas went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and two runs batted in. Thomas also stole five bases. Elizabeth Chontal finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four stolen bases.

Analicia Ramirez went 1-for-2 with three runs scored and five stolen bases. Kaydence Lopez also had a 1-for-4 day.

In the circle, Lopez got the win in relief. Lopez and starter Thomas combined to strike out seven batters.

GAME 2: PUTNAM CITY WEST 4, CROOKED OAK 3

Chontal beat out a base loaded groundout that would have end the third-inning in a shortened game, scoring Ramirez for a West win.

Ramirez led off the third with a double to left field. Her hit was the Lady Patriots’ only hit of the game.

West batters were hit five times and walked five times in the win.

Thomas earned the win in the circle, striking out three batters in two innings of relief.
