NEWCASTLE – Several West Metro runners competed at the Racer Invitational Friday (Sept. 20).

In the girls 5K, Putnam City had two runners inside the top 25. Senior Cameron Berumen finished 18th with a time of 23:40.18. Freshman Natalie Ross landed in 23rd place with a time of 24:12.41.

As a team, the Lady Pirates finished eighth with an average time of 26:33.64.

In the boys 5K, Western Heights finished eighth with an average time of 19:35.23. Putnam City finished 11th (19:59.16) and Putnam City West ended up 12th (20:23.07).

Putnam City junior Sebastian De Loera finished 21st (18:20.79) and Western Heights senior Simeon Owings finished 22nd (18:27.51).

Putnam City competes at Kelly Chaney Invitational at Lake Ponca Tuesday (Sept. 24) at 1:30 p.m.

Western Heights runs at the McLoud Blackberry Run Saturday (Sept. 28) at 9 a.m.

Putnam City West competes at the Lexington Bulldogs Run Thursday (Oct. 3) at 11 a.m.
