WARR ACRES – Putnam City finished out the Putnam City Festival with an 8-0 shutout over Del City Saturday (Sept. 21).

The Lady Pirates (5-19) broke open a tight 1-1 game in the third inning with four runs.

Sophomore Maece Bourbonnais’ RBI-double in the third highlighted the big inning. Bourbonnais’ double in the first inning scored Original’s first run.

Also in the third inning, fellow sophomore Samantha Tidmore scored on an error after stealing third base. Senior Paishintz Booker ran for Bourbonnais and stole home for another run to give PC a 5-0 lead.

In the fourth inning, Putnam City added three runs with six singles (five of those were in a row). Booker stole home for a second time in the game.

Bourbonnais finished 3-for-4 with two runs batted in. Fellow sophomores Tessa Goodner and Alexandra Hatlelid each went 2-for-3.

The Lady Pirates produced 13 hits in the win.

In the circle, Bourbonnais allowed three hits, one walk and struck out five batters for the win.

UP NEXT

Putnam City (5-19, 1-9) gets back to 6A-2 play by traveling to Union (6-20, 1-9) Monday (Sept. 23). First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.
