BETHANY – Each offense rolled up some impressive numbers in Bethany’s 36-29 win over Jones Friday (Sept. 13).

Senior Jackie Payne threw for 277 yards, completing 11-of-23 with three scores and one interception. Junior Judson Gilliland completed both of his passes for 13 yards and a touchdown.

Senior Wyatt Geissler caught four passes for 132 yards, thanks in part to his 66-yard game winning reception, one of two scores for Geissler.

Junior Seth Greiner added 83 yards on three catches. Senior Garrett Johnson had a touchdown and 37 yards receiving on three catches.

Gilliland added a 28-yard touchdown catch out of the backfield.

In the backfield, Gilliland was held to 34 yards on 16 carries with a score. Payne added 28 yards on five rushes.

BETHANY D PASSES TEST

Jones’ numbers are eye-popping: 25 first downs and 29 minutes of possession time.

The Longhorns had 403 total yards but Bethany got a stop at the end to hold on for the win.
