MARLOW – Western Heights dropped two games to Marlow Monday (Sept. 16) in 4A-2 action.

MARLOW 16, WESTERN HEIGHTS 9

The Lady Jets struck first in this back-and-forth contest with two runs in the first inning. Both runs came with two outs.

Marlow responded with six runs in the second inning. Western Heights followed with seven runs in the third inning capped off by an Ionia Howell two-run home run.

Marlow countered with eight runs in the fourth inning to pull away for the win.

The Jets collected 11 hits but also committed seven errors in the loss.

Makayla Brown and Yazmine Howell each had 3-for-4 performances. Jalesa Asimba went 2-for-5.

Asimba got the loss. Of the 16 runs Asimba allowed, only five runs were earned.

MARLOW 20, WESTERN HEIGHTS 5

Marlow jumped on the Lady Jets early with five runs in the first and nine runs in the second inning en route to the run-rule win.

Western Heights had 11 errors in the loss. Of the 20 runs allowed, only six runs were earned.

The Lady Jets (6-10, 2-8) host Chickasha (6-20, 2-4) for a 4A-2 doubleheader Tuesday (Sept. 17). The first game begins at 5 p.m.
