

BETHANY – The Bethany Lady Bronchos swept their Bethany Invitational Volleyball Tournament Saturday (Sept. 14).
Bethany, 21-1 and ranked second in Class 4A, didn’t drop a set during the event.
The Lady Bronchos beat 5A No. 10 Classen S.A.S. (25-16, 25-9), 4A Blanchard (25-17, 25-10), 5A Lawton (25-7, 25-16), 6A Putnam City (25-4, 25-13) and 4A No. 12 Weatherford (25-12, 25-13).

“It was a great day to play volleyball. We didn’t drop a set all day,” Bethany coach Kerri Cagle said via text. “It was good all around play by everyone on the roster.”
“It’s always nice when everyone can help contribute on the court. These girls have a really good time playing together,” Cagle said.
Senior outside hitter Jaidyn Reid was named to the All-Tournament Team and junior outside hitter Skylar Brady was named the tournament’s MVP.
LADY PIRATES WIN FIRST OF SEASON
Putnam City picked up its first win over the season with a 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 15-11) victory over 4A Harding Charter Prep.
Besides the loss to Bethany, Putnam City also fell to 4A No. 12 Weatherford (25-11, 25-5).

Bethany travels to 5A No. 9 Oklahoma Christian School (11-7) Tuesday (Sept. 17). Play begins at 6 p.m.
Putnam City (1-15) travels to rival Putnam City North (3-8) Tuesday (Sept. 17). The match begins at 6 p.m.
