HARRAH – Western Heights mistakes fueled a 65-0 rout by 4A Harrah Friday (Sept. 13)
“Mistake and turnovers make for a long game,” Western Heights coach Travis Burdine said via text. “As I told the players, ‘Losing by a large margin doesn’t make you a loser. Losing by a large margin and quitting is what makes you a loser.’ “
Burdine said his team needs to move past the blowout loss and get ready for a homecoming matchup with Northwest Classen next Friday (Sept. 20).
“In football you have to have two things to be great. 1. A short memory and 2. Learn to take criticism,” Burdine said. “But overall, we learned from this game and know what needs to be done to get better.”
