GEARY- Western Heights scored three runs in the seventh inning to beat Class B Geary, 9-7, Tuesday (Sept. 10).

The game featured four lead-changes and and a third inning tie.

Trailing 7-6 with two outs in the top of the seventh inning, Jalesa Asimba doubled to left field and scored on a single by Abbie Bise.

Ionia Howell followed with a double to center field. Aracena Martin scored Bise and Howell to take a 9-7 lead.

In the bottom half of the seventh inning, Asimba worked around a one-out single, striking out the final two batters for the win.

Martin had a 4-for-4 days with three runs batted in. Asimba added a 3-for-4 performance with two doubles. Both Ionia Howell and Yazmine Howell had a double.

Asimba earned the win after pitching three innings of relief. She struck out four batters. Starter Abby Spitler struck out five and gave up one unearned run in the first four innings.

UP NEXT

The Lady Jets (6-8, 0-6) host Anadarko (8-13, 1-7) in a 4A-2 contest Thursday (Sept. 12). First pitch is at 6 p.m.
