OKLAHOMA CITY – Putnam City West fell twice Thursday (Aug. 29) in the Santa Fe South softball tournament.
COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN 26, PUTNAM CITY WEST 1
The Royals had two big innings in the three-inning rout.
Kaydence Lopez tripled to lead off the first inning and came home to score on a single by Taniya Johnson to make it 5-1.
MOUNT SAINT MARY 10, PUTNAM CITY WEST 1
The Rockets took advantage of five West errors and built a big lead in the five-inning run-rule.
The Lady Patriots’ lone run came in the second inning when Elizabeth Chontal was hit by a pitch. Chontal stole second, third and home to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Johnson had West’s only hit with a single to left field in the first inning.
