WARR ACRES – Norman sprinted to an 18-1 rout over Putnam City Monday (April 22) with two big innings to start the Class 6A District 1 contest.

The Tigers scored 10 runs in the first inning and eight runs in the second.

Norman collected nine hits and took advantage of 11 Pirate errors.

Senior Connor Bennett provided the only bright spot for Original with a leadoff inside-the-park home run on a ball hit to center field in the second.

Junior Lukas Poindexter got the Pirates’ only other hit with a single to lead off the third inning.

UP NEXT: The Pirates (6-21, 4-9) travel to Norman Tuesday (April 23) to finish their final district series of the year. First pitch is at 5 p.m.
