ELK CITY – Bethany outhit Elk City, 5-4, Thursday (April 18) but the Elks beat the Bronchos, 5-1.

Elk City led 1-0 in the fifth inning when two hits, three walks and error and a hit batsmen plated four runs to make it 5-0.

The Bronchos (18-13, 11-3 in Class 4A District 1) got a run back in the top of the fifth. Sophomore Karter Thomas led off the inning with a walk. Junior Josh Pierce doubled to left field. Fellow junior Charlie Tolle got a sacrifice fly on a ball hit to right, scoring Thomas.

Pierce finished 2-for-4. Thomas added a 1-for-2 performance and senior Christian Sigler went 1-for-3. Junior Andrew Taber also went 1-for-3.

UP NEXT: Bethany finishes the regular season by hosting the OKC Broncos Monday (April 22) at 5 p.m. for senior night.
