SHAWNEE – The Bethany offense exploded in the final two innings to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 17-4 rout of Lawton Eisenhower Friday (April 12) at the Bill Tipton Classic at Shawnee.

The Bronchos (17-10, 11-1 in Class 4A District 1) took advantage of three walks, a hit batter, two singles and two Ike errors to score six runs in the sixth inning.

Leading 8-4, Bethany turned the game into a rout in the seventh, scoring nine runs. The inning was highlighted by a inside-the-park grand slam by senior Gavin Finley.

Finley finished 2-for-3, with three runs scored, four RBIs and two walks. Junior Charlie Tolle went 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk.

Andrew Taber picked up the win after throwing three innings of hitless and scoreless relief, walking one and striking out two batters.
