KINGFISHER – Putnam City West senior Kevin Saucedo went 3-for-4 as the Patriots dropped the El Reno JV, 12-6, Friday (April 5) at The Shed Classic at Kingfisher.

West (5-10, 0-8 in the Class 6A District 1) blew open an 1-0 El Reno lead in the bottom half of the first inning, scoring eights runs. The Patriots got five hits, three walks and took advantage of an error in the big inning.

Saucedo scored twice, drove in two runs and stole two bases in the win. Fellow senior Sam Hernandez went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.

On the mound, senior John Rolling got the win, allowing four hits. The El Reno JV scored six runs but none of them were earned due to five Patriot errors. Rolling struck out nine batters.

UP NEXT: The Patriots meet host Kingfisher Saturday at noon on the final day of The Shed Classic.
