OKLAHOMA CITY – Western Heights beat U.S. Grant, 9-2, to win third place in the All-City Athletic Conference baseball tournament Friday (March 29).

The Jets (3-7, 0-6 in Class 5A District 1) scored runs in all four innings for the win.

Western Heights took advantage of a single by junior Jacob Bohnstedt, a stolen base, an error and a groundout to take a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Sophomore Keziah Howell drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the second. A groundout by junior Kole Schrock added two more runs to make it 5-0.

A U.S. Grant error, a Bohnstedt double and a single by senior Darien Wiley added three more runs in the third to make it a 8-0 lead.

Howell scored on a wild pitch after stealing third base in the fourth for the Jets’ final run.

Bohnstedt finished 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and one run batted in. Wiley added a 2-for-2 day with two runs scored and 1 RBI. Junior Kipp Davis went 1-for-3

Bohnstedt got the win, allowing four hits and one earned run, striking out five in four innings.

UP NEXT: The Jets begin a two-game district series with Noble Monday (April 1), hosting the Bears at 5 p.m. The two teams play Tuesday at Noble.
