EDMOND – Putnam City’s bats were silent for second straight game as two Edmond North pitchers combined for a no-hitter, beating the Pirates, 11-0, Tuesday (March 26) in a Class 6A District 1 contest.

Edmond North senior Bryce Bender and sophomore Brogan Griggs combined for the no-hitter in five innings. Bender pitched four of the innings. Bender had 11 strikeouts and Griggs had two. They combined for three walks.

The Pirates (2-8, 2-4) committed four errors as the Huskies scored five runs in the first inning and four runs in the fourth.

UP NEXT: Putnam City hosts the Bryson Cael Memorial Tournament beginning Thursday (March 28). The Pirates face the OKC Broncos at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, Putnam City will play Del City at 12 p.m. and Bethany at 4:30 p.m.
