The West Metro has six basketball teams moving on to area tournaments.

In Class 4A, both Bethany girls and boys squads advanced Saturday (Feb. 24). The boys won the consolation bracket with a win over Bridge Creek. The Lady Bronchos sprinted past Purcell for another regional title.

Also on Saturday, Putnam City North’s boys avenged an earlier loss to Mustang, beating the Broncos, 79-50, in Lawton to win its consolation regional bracket.

Putnam City West’s boys is also moving on, after a 63-57 win over Lawton at Edmond North.

On Friday (Feb. 23) , the Putnam City West girls beat Westmoore to win their regional title. Their opponent in the first round of the area playoffs next week will be sister school, Putnam City North. The Lady Panthers won their regional Friday, beating Norman North 52-38.
