OKLAHOMA CITY – Putnam City West routed Capitol Hill, 96-10, in the first round of the Class 6A West Regional Tuesday (Feb. 20).
The Lady Patriots (22-1) outscored the Red Wolves 30-2 after one quarter and 65-5 by halftime. West held Capitol Hill to two buckets in the game.
Sophomore Jayla Constant scored a game-high 28 points, with two 3-pointers. Fellow sophomore Da’Nae Jefferson added 20 points with four treys.
Another sophomore, Kaiana Gray added 17 points with three 3-pointers. Junior Jazzlin Brown finished with 13 points.
West shot 55 percent from the field in the win, out-rebounding Capitol Hill, 36-23.
“We’re one step closer to reaching our goal(s),” Lady Patriot head coach Ja’Ron Jefferson said via text.
UP NEXT: West hosts Westmoore Friday (Feb. 23), with the winner advancing to the Area Tournament. Tip-off is at 3:30 p.m.
The Lady Patriots cruised past the Lady Jags, 74-29, on Feb. 13. Westmoore comes into the game at 15-8.
