ENID – Putnam City staged a fourth-quarter comeback to beat Enid, 35-33, in a defensive battle Tuesday (Feb. 13).
After a tight first half, Enid opened up an eight-point lead going into the final quarter (29-21). The Pirates (9-14, 5-9) dominated the final period, outscoring Enid 13-4.
During the run, sophomore Jaiden Perry scored six of his nine points including a fadeaway jumper to tie the game at 31 with 3:19 left. Perry would score the final bucket of the game with :39 left.
Enid had a chance at the end, but an inbounds pass with eight-tenths of a second left was intercepted by freshman Miles Jackson to seal the win.
Junior JaColby Williams scored a game-high 15 points. Fellow junior D.J. Stephens finished with eight points.
UP NEXT: Putnam City will travel to Union to meet Bixby in the regional playoffs Thursday (Feb. 22). Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
