BETHANY – The Lady Bronchos routed another overmatched foe, starting fast and crushing their opponent. Bethany’s senior night was no exception to the rule as the Lady Bronchos beat Oklahoma Christian School, 86-21, Tuesday night (Feb. 13).
Bethany (19-4) outscored OCS (9-13) 20-3 in the first quarter and led 42-4 by halftime.
Five Lady Bronchos scored in double-figures with senior Zya Vann leading the way with 25 points. Junior Keziah Lofton added 22 points. Senior Avery Marchino had 10 points as did juniors Kayten Donley and Talia Vann. Freshman Ali Lann added eight points.
The Lady Bronchos honored six seniors including Zya Vann, Lucy McClure, Avery Marchino and Ava Dorris. The team also honored senior managers Lily Overholt and Savannah Shire.
“These six seniors have been with us for a long time,” Bethany coach Eric Sailer said via text. “They have poured into our program and sacrificed much for a greater good. We will miss them all for sure!”
UP NEXT: The Lady Bronchos meet Clinton in the district playoffs. Bethany won the teams’ earlier meeting, 89-17 on Jan. 11.
“We are excited and hopeful to make another playoff run this year,” Sailer said. “We realize we have a target on our backs! But we knew that going into the season. We just have to be ready for the storm to come!”
