PURCELL – A day after returning from Washington, D.C. later than expected because of weather-related travel issues, the Bethany Lady Bronchos traded the jet-lag for a rout over Class 6A Enid, 81-30, in the Heart of Oklahoma Basketball Tournament Thursday (Jan. 18).

The Lady Bronchos (10-4 and top-ranked in Class 4A) didn’t seem to have any ill effects from their extended time in the nation’s capital. Bethany sprinted out to a 20-7 lead over the Pacers (6-8) and led 50-11 at halftime, enabling coach Eric Sailer to give his starters some rest.

“It was a good way to get back in the groove after a long trip!” Sailer said via text.

The Lady Bronchos had four player in double-figures: Zya Vann with 21 points, Avery Marchino with 17, Keziah Lofton with 14 points and Kayten Donley with 12 points. Nine players scored in the win.

UP NEXT: Bethany will meet Class 5A Elgin in the tournament semifinals. The Lady Owls beat Byng, 57-45, Thursday. Tip-off is at 4 p.m.
