BETHANY – Tuttle handed Bethany its first loss of the year with 65-55 decision Tuesday (Jan. 9) in a Western Conference matchup.
A tight first quarter ballooned into a double-digit deficit for Bethany, now 10-1. The Bronchos cut the Tuttle lead to 28-21 by halftime.
Bethany got within four in the third quarter, but Tuttle pulled away for the win.
UP NEXT: The Bronchos host Clinton Thursday (Jan. 11). Tip-off is at 6:30 p.m.
Union 74, Putnam City 48
TULSA – Putnam City lost its second straight game to Union Tuesday (Jan. 9) after losing to the Redhawks in the third-place game of the Putnam City Invitational over the weekend.
This time the game was a Class 6A District 3 game and the Pirates trailed 30-22 at halftime. Putnam City (4-8, 2-4 in district play) cut the lead to seven in the third quarter before Union (8-2, 3-1) pulled away.
UP NEXT: The Pirates return home to host Enid Friday (Jan. 12) in a Class 6A District 3 matchup.
Putnam City North 50, Norman North 32
OKLAHOMA CITY – Led by junior guards Anthony Leonard and Khai Brown, the Panthers beat the Timberwolves.
“We played solid defense,” North coach Mike Jeffries said via email. “(Norman North) had a hard time scoring and we were able to the rim and make tough shots. Another great team win.”
UP NEXT: The Panthers (8-7, 2-4) travel to Edmond North Friday (Jan. 12) in another Class 6A District 1 matchup.
