Several Putnam City and Putnam City North football players earned awards in Class 6A-II District 2.

Pirate quarterback Judson Keefer was named Co-MVP along with Ponca City’s Gavin Cunningham. In Keefer’s senior season, he threw for 2,293 yards and 24 touchdowns. A threat on the ground as well, Keefer led Putnam City with 660 rushing yards, scoring eight touchdowns.

North offensive lineman Adam Owdetallah was named Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year along with Deer Creek’s Toran Smith. Owdetallah helped the Panther offense to an average of 253 yards of offense a game.

Putnam City offensive linemen Drandale Hamon and Randall Sisney were recognized. Hamon and Sisney helped the Pirate offense average 352 yards a game.

North tight end Jaiden Robinson was also honored.

Putnam City wide receiver Davien Taylor was named All-District. The senior caught 26 passes for 614 yards and seven touchdowns.

Defensively, North had the Inside Linebacker of the Year in Ryan Gooch. The senior had 61 tackles and six tackles for loss. He also tied for the team lead with five sacks.

Panther defensive linemen Dominic Doss and Va’Shon Russell were honored. Doss had 46 tackles, with a six-and-a-half for a loss. Russell added 38 tackles with four tackles for a loss.

In the secondary, North defensive back Ricky Young was recognized for his 34 tackles.

Putnam City kicker Carlos Yanez shared Kicker of the Year honors with Choctaw’s Terry Gennings. The Pirate senior averaged 51 yards a kickoff.

The District 2 Iron Man of the Year went to Putnam City’s Ethan Scott, who led the Pirates with 779 yards receiving and 11 touchdown catches. He also had 21 tackles and two interceptions on defense.

Making honorable mention for Putnam City were Cayman Brazile, Promise Morris, Daquavion Jarrell and Daqualin Scott.

For Putnam City North the honorable mention honorees included O’Shaun Kirby, Bobby Cunningham, Desmond Antwine, Terrance Tipton and Bryson Barnett.
