PIEDMONT – Putnam City got off to a hot start against Piedmont, but the Pirates lost, 60-18, in a dual Tuesday (Dec. 19).

The Pirates took a 9-0 lead after wins from freshman Jason Visor at 106 (8-1) and sophomore Mateo Santana at 113 (tech. Fall). The Wildcats answered and took the lead.

The Pirates also got match wins from sophomore Michael Hernandez at 132 (6-1) to tie the dual at 12-12.

Junior Monty Hall scored a fall at 138 and Putnam City took an 18-12 lead.

From there, it was all Piedmont. The Wildcats won the remaining matches for the win.
