KINGFISHER – Keziah Lofton reached the 1,000-point mark Tuesday (Dec. 5) in the Lady Bronchos’ season-opening 49-34 win over Kingfisher.

The junior guard and Oklahoma commit scored 14 points to reach the mark.

Lofton is ranked 46th best college recruit in the country according to ESPN.

Kayten Donley scored 17 points in the win.

Bethany won its first girls state championship last spring, going 29-1 to capture the Class 4A title.

Putnam City 54, Bartlesville 49

WARR ACRES – After leading by double-digits for a majority of the game, Putnam City held on for a 54-49 win over Bartlesville Tuesday (Dec. 5) in a 6A District 3 matchup.

Late in the fourth quarter, a Promise Wright free throw pushed the PC lead to 52-46. Wright missed the second free throw but junior Destinee Hunt grabbed a key rebound. Her put back missed but the Pirates gathered another rebound. The sequence of events took time off the clock and forced the Lady Bruins to foul again.

Senior Jenna Bigfoot sank two free throws to help seal the win.

Three Pirates scored in double figures for Putnam City (2-1, 2-1). Destinee Hunt had 16 points, Kayla Hill scored 11 and Ileeya Combs added 10.

Bartlesville dropped 1-2 with the loss. Senior Mikka Chambers paced the Lady Bruins with 22 points and junior Alayah Lunn added 16.
